Hi, everybody my name is shawn and I came across your site and it looks like a friendly spot. I am a twenty seven year old that lives in the woods in oregon USA. I have a c3/c4 injury and have been a quad for about 3 years now. I spend way to much time on my computer and I am working on putting a computer on my powerchair, No more boring waits at the doctors. I was going to use a netbook but that left dvds out. I ended up getting a pc that was made for a car and found a power supply to run it all off my chairbattery. I'm just waiting for some cables, and a day of work to mount it. I will take pictures when I put it together. Because of the computer project I have been looking for others who have made modification to there powerchairs and really there's not much info out there. Anyways, thats who I am and some of what I am into. I also am a oregon medical mariuana card holder and will help anyone who wants info on it. I guess thats enough for now, looking forward to meeting you guys.

Fear is the dumbest thing that we've ever created in our minds; its just so stupid... it stands in the way of everything and it achieves nothing.

Hi Shawn,
My chair builder would not hook up my headlights and tail lights to my chair battery. He was afraid if might affect the warranty. Instead, he mounted a battery behind my chair back. It has it own charger and I charge it about once a year. If you use something like this, your computer could be used on/off your chair if you park close.
Good luck and a great idea.
Millard

Thanks for the welcome everybody.
Millard-That is a good workaround and would be a good way to get 12v instead of the 24v on our chair, I just didn't think the battery life would be good. Do you use a mower or bike battery? I would think packing a full size battery around would get old quick. I'm having a hard time finding a good spot for headlights, the best I can come up with is under a chair arm.
Thanks again for welcome
