Judge Blocks Embryonic Stem-Cell Research Funding
A federal judge on Monday issued a preliminary injunction that blocks the federal government from funding medical research involving human embryonic stem cells, a blow to the Obama administration's bid to expand stem-cell research efforts.
U.S. Chief District Court Judge Royce Lamberth in Washington ruled that government funding for embryonic stem-cell research was barred by a law that prohibits the use of federal money for research in which an embryo is destroyed.

i heard about that on the news when we were going to the store the other day. i the fact that they say they are taking human life for the research i though was kinda bogus. i know they use babies but only the ones that are terminal and its with the parents consent is it not. id like to know exactally how that works.. been curious for a while.

I've been wondering this for years - Why hasn't anymore made the same effort towards other areas of stem cell research, like adult stem cells or umbilical stem cells? Embryonic stem cells seem to get the most attention, but they're not entirely the most promising? It's controversial and grabs everyone's attention because of the 'destroying life' factor, but regardless of which side you're on, why are so many politicians ignoring the alternatives that have shown progress?
Must not be worth arguing about to politicians. Not hard core enough.

3 doctors diagnosed me with hysterical paralysis (weee!), 1 diagnosed an incomplete T7, another T2 and the last (and most accurate) T5. Trampolines are BAD. Sleep is unpredictable. And never kiss strangers. Life has moved on.
