Is it normal to have issues with incontinence after you have a super pubic cath? My sig other has had his for going on 3 weeks now and just suddenly the last two days he is having issues with wetting. It is very embarrassing to him and these are the times when he gets very down and just says..this is when I really hate my life. Is it just spasm or is there the possibility some function is attempting to return? Thanks for your input in advance.

its urethral spasms...try changing to a softer cath w/rounder smoother tip...caths can be too rough on bladder wall and spasms are body's defense mech
