I may be repeating a thread - if so sorry.

I am on 300 mg of Lyrica - it works until I up my activity level then I am the same ruddy pain as when I dont take it. The doctor said I could try upping it but it may sedate me too much.

Comments sooooooooooo much appreciated.

If it does sedate more, is it better if I am in a bit more of 'zombie la la land' or am I better staying with a'fully functioning brain but in pain'. I have been brave with it for so long, but quality of life is not what it could be. And I am tired of being brave. Doing less at the cost of less pain is now more of an attractive idea.

Thanks

I'm on 500mg a day, having reduced it (and hoping to reduce it again) from double that BECAUSE of the zombie land makes life so... empty.
Whatever works for you - try it and see.
We live in a world so scared of upsetting others feelings that the idiots are allowed to rule. Goodbye intelligence.

Yeap I just been up pharmasist - he said try it 3 times a day so spreads out the effect of the tablet.

Nothing better than real life people trying it to find out the truth.

Cheers Clara :)

How about the gabapentin? I'm at 800 mg,, three times a day, for a total of 2400mg/day. I'm tired,, but alert,, and not foggy. But the pain continues. Does anyone go higher?

I was just prescribed some percoset for my trip. But I don't find that the 7.5/325 very effective,, so I generally don't bother.

Thanks Allis53ca - So they kind of work like paracetamol? I remember hearing they can be quite addictive and wasnt sure if having 3 a day when bad then cutting down again, would cause me trouble - but if you do this and it works I may give it a whirl

I lowered my dose because I felt legaly high 24/7 plus they arent on the pbs here and cost $122 per script so I am staying on 300mg and going to try the patches my gp prescribed, still feel like in in lala land but not as bad.

Yeap Shady it sure can do. Whether thats just because we dont stress as much because the pain levels are a bit lower? My weight is coming off slowly slowly. Thanks for the steroids I had in hospital and now these pregablin I went from 8/10 to size 14. I keep working on it ................. I found it put weight on at the top of my abdomen where as before that was very much slim
