I was fortunate to acquire a used TGA Breeze 4 mobility scooter. The scooter is great but I'm having difficulty finding reliable replacement tyres for the six inch front wheels. The tyre size is 410-350 6, but the critical measurement is the six inch hub diameter. With a lot of hunting around on the internet it is possible to find similarly sized tyre advertised but these are all from suppliers of agricultural equipment, and the tyres are rated for use on grass only.

Because no harder compound tyres seem to be available, I have tried several different brands of the agricultural ones but none lasts very long on the rough grit-embedded roads around my home. The poorest performers were King brand - completely worn through in 2.5 months. Innova lasted only a little longer. I only average around eight miles a day at around 3 mph so I'm not exactly tearing the arse out of them. I know they're not expensive but it's a real chore having to remove and split the hubs so frequently.

I tried everywhere I could before I eventually contacted TGA. They always seem to charge more than anyone else for everything. What a farce!! I made the initial enquiry by email and explained the difficulty I was having, and followed up by ordering a pair of their Mitsumoto tyres without tubes. I was assured were rated for road use (harder compound). TGA delivered one inner tube!

I phoned the original contact and got profuse apologies and a promise that my two tyres would be with me shortly. TGA delivered ONE tyre! Another phone call - more promises. TGA delivered a second Inner tube! More apologies, and eventually I received the second tyre.

Today, I opened the tyre packages to fit them. TGA had sent me two Cheng Shin tyres ( not Mitsumoto), and both tyres were stamped NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE. Despite this, I have had to fit them today. To say that I am disappointed in TGA's service is an understatement.

So, finally, does anyone know of a supplier who may stock ROAD RATED six inch tyres that are around 3 or 4 inches wide? If I have to go through this performance with TGA next time I may end up killing someone!! :head_brick_wall-1:

Thanks Wendy, but don't forget your "3" has a larger front wheel than the front pair on the "4". I've found a site that might be able to help but as I've just put the TGA supplied ones on, it could be a few months (hopefully a bit longer) before I need any more. The tyre I've eyeballed is actually sold as a wheelbarrow tyre, but it looks as though it may do so I've bookmarked it.

All other suggestions welcomed.

Hi GB - am off to the big German trade fair in October. Send me an email with what you need and I will try and find a supplier. Don't use a scooter myself so will rely on specific instructions for what you want.

Best wishes

Very nice of you to offer Guido, but I'm actually OK at the moment. TGA are looking to provide the tyres they fit to their new scooters and I've got a couple of other dealers now looking to stock harder compound tyres for the future. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks, Wendy. As you'll see from my reply to Guido, I'm pretty well fixed up now, but if your man has any suggestions, I'd be pleased to hear them.
