I had cold legs in the car so put the heating on half way and set the blowers to warm my legs up and burnt one foot :-( it was all red but it is now blotchy and I have a few small blisters, one larger one on the toe next to my big toe. Feel like such an ass!

Please Leah see your district nurse and get those blisters looked after quickly before they turn nasty and become ulcers
Yep it happened to me too

Oh right thanks Dave, I was just gonna leave them as I don't wear shoes. The one blister is big, one small and the others are flat with nothing in them if that makes sense? I don't even know how to get hold of a district nurse, may have to call doctors as soon as I get up tomo?

Stick at it Leah - we all do daft things sometimes, I developed an ulcer on my heel that took months to heal, caused by sitting on a chair with my legs propped up on a low wall, it started as a red patch, progressed to a blister and after two weeks was a deep ulcer. I wish I had sought treatment immediately. Good Luck

ask for multidex, it will grow skin on an q-ball, seriously, it should quickly put skin back over the blister, if its not deep, it wont fill in a sore but it will put skin over an area very quick if its just topical........

Watch out for heating pads or blankets as well. My feet got really cold a couple years ago so I put a small pad in between the lower legs and fell asleep. I woke up with a giant plaster the size of a pancake.
3 doctors diagnosed me with hysterical paralysis (weee!), 1 diagnosed an incomplete T7, another T2 and the last (and most accurate) T5. Trampolines are BAD. Sleep is unpredictable. And never kiss strangers. Life has moved on.

Thanks for the tips and support, waited 4 hours in A&E just to get a bandage on it but I must go in again tomorrow to get it checked and when the doctor called me back he said it is also getting passed onto a district nurse to keep an eye on :-D

Well done leah
Mend quickly

Bare in mind that cold will stop the healing process for 24-48 hours
So in winter wrap up leg and foot ulcers
Do not wash ulcers with cold water, always use warm water

This info brought to you from my Podiatry nurse which i see every 2-3 weeks

3 extra large pizzas on my lap for the trip home did the same thing to me......& BTW I got a nice good stiff lecture from my GP. :blushing02: It's hard when the legs feel so cold to realize they're actually getting burned but it just needs to become a force of habit to check with your hands (so long as the feeling in them is AOK) so you can prevent burns from happening in the future.

Leah,

No need to be annoyed with yourself. This was your first injury related injury and all humans learn the hard way. It is just who we are. Anger at oneself is a waste of precious energy, and you need that energy to heal your precious foot.

We all do something really dumb at least once.

My daftest was to sit on a Stanley Knife while on the floor laying some carpet tiles  The blood scared me to death! I needed it superglued.

Just take care of it like everyone says and be careful that any dressings don't cause problems in their own right.

You might be able to get a Dressings Nurse or a Tissue Viability Nurse on to it - they are a bit more specialist, and have really helped me on a couple of occasions. But even if it's a District Nurse, good that doctor is taking it seriously.

and it sure won't be the last, seems like we can do amazing things with our body parts anymore, nothing like hanging your foot on a door and looking down and turned 2/3s the way around, knowing it has to hurt, all kinds of stuff like that, but really try to find some multidex if u can, it's prescription, it would heal that up in a few days if it just top layer maybe a week if its into the second layer, ask the wound dr/nurse.......... u want the gel not the granulated stuff, its available by just ordering it, i did a google search, use to be script....it really works awesome for something like that........and its come way down in price, a little goes along way.......
