Ive been looking for a half decent folding chair for a while now and came across this one, the Quickie Revolution. Ive read some reviews which seem overall favourable but wondered if anyone has one? I do need something that takes up a bit less space to be honest as we do quite a lot of travelling. It would be also useful for my job as Im in and out of the car like a yoyo!! It would be my 'second' chair not main one soo wouldnt be used every day.

cheers

Luce!

I was looking at this chair some time ago and the only comment I could get suggested that it could be awkward as the castors stick out quite a way making getting through tight spaces harder.

Kuschall do a very similar one called IIRC champion - both very similar and both fold up very small so if folded side is your primaty concern then it's the chair for you but the folding mechanism adds weight over a rigid. If you've got to have a folding chair thenone of the two is probably the one to get.

Thanks Kanga and Russ for your very valuable opinions. I cant say Im stuck on a fold up, but my job entails going out and about in other peoples cars and it would seem to be a bit more convenient in this case.

Russ, you will be pleased to know that you inspired me to do my own work on my chair. Armed with a socket set, grease and baby wipes, I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together. I can happily say the squeak is gone!!! So thanks for that, see I just needed a bit of encouragement!!! :(

I used a Quickie Revolution for about 4 years and was quite happy with it. Being a quad, I probably don't use it as heavily as a para but the folding mechanism held up (one off the weak points I had heard).

Getting into other peoples' cars probably means they have to put the chair in the boot for you as well. The folding mechanism is fairly easy, 2 cords to pull so explaining that won't be a problem.

I can't talk for the Kuschall folding chair but I believe it folds differently. The quickie offers good rigidity through the camberbar.

Hi try looking http://www.davinciwheelchairs.co.uk/ look at the Leggera Super Compatta it is like the rigid frame that folds at the back rest and the down tubes at the front it might be worth looking at

Hi Luce
I would also recommend the davinci leggera super compatta, I have got a normal rigid frame leggera at the moment, which is great I have just ordered a titanium version to replace my current chair, and the Davinci rep brought round a super compatta when he came to see me.

It would definitely be worth looking into

Hope this helps

LOL, i thought the same thing about the casters till i realized i could simply switch them side for side.
Ten minutes later they didn't stick out anymore.
I'm on my 3rd Revolution, nothing wrong with the old ones, insurance says i can have one every so often so why argue? It's a great everyday chair too, especially if you drive traditional cars and trucks.
