Hi Everyone

As I mentioned on the MIA thread sorry I haven't been around very much recently but I have been struggling with the lung disease I have been battling against for two years now. Sadly things have taken a turn for the worse recently and I now have multiple growths in both lungs. The largest of which in my left lung is now 11cm diameter, I have got a total of 8 growths now. These growths are linked into my systemic circulation and put me at risk of massive or life threatening bleeding in my lungs. I have suffered 2 major bleeds in the last 4 months, the most recent being 2 weeks ago, as you can see though I am still here. The disease itself is also progressing and sadly at the moment treatment is not stopping it.

I am so grateful for all the support you have all given me, but I have been finding it hard to deal with this disease on top of my SCI. I am still fighting on, in fact I am aiming to do my first 10km race in just over 2 weeks, my time will be slower than I was aiming for prior to my latest bleed but I am determined to do it.

I'll definitely be around more on here and keep you all updated.

Thanks again for all your support

Jules

Jules,

I'm so sorry to hear about the problems you're having. It sounds very difficult. Well done for your determination and wanting to continue to do the race. I'm wishing you all the best

So much struggle yet you continue on living, big hugs Jules, you personify the notion of "Never Surrender", my best to you on your up coming 10K; it's your effort/doing that matters, not the time :) You are in my thoughts, be well...

Thanks Everyone, I made it out for my first training "run" since I came out of hospital 2 weeks ago after my last bleed in my lungs, I managed 4km so was quite happy with that - definitely on for the 10K :specool:
