Today wile on the way to pick my Sister up from ballet my neck and shoulders got so itchy so fast. It's happened a few times in the last month it comes on fast and usually lasts under 2 hours. I figure the itching on my neck could be from my scar could still be healing but why the shoulders? Today it was the worst yet, time I got to pick up Claire I had my shirt off and the first thing I said to her was scratch my shoulders, got to love her long nails. This isn't anything I can't handle and I know I could be dealing with a much worse problem I just don't know why this happens.

Could be any number of things but one to consider is this: Frequent washing with soap can deplete natural skin oil which leads to moisture loss which leads sometimes to itch itch. Solution - go easier with the soap and apply something like aqueous cream, a basic moisturizer.

I also get itching on my neck and shoulders, which doesn't respond to any amount of scratching.
I have my clothes washed with non biological liquid and also use baby soup to wash my body.

My theory is its the nerve endings that set it off as it appears to be just under the skin.
I'm sorry I don't have answer for you Drew, other than trying the things Nomis and myself suggest.

My husband gets that occasionally --that's his AD kicking in and we have steps to take care of that. He also cannot be out in extreme heat, which we've had for a few days now in San Diego.

I see your level of injury is different that his so maybe just be aware of outside influences --i.e. weather when it happens.

For many of us it is due to nerve disfunctions
But it can also be a sign for blood pressure problems - I kid you not - consider keeping your eye on your blood presure or seeing your local medical team - I can just go down my local and speak to a nurse without having to see a doctor
