Jodie, obviously you are incomplete but were you first classified as complete? What muscle movement do you need to use crutches and how did you get that movement back?? Thanks and good luck to you both

Derek, Yes first I was classified as a complete but before I even went to the rehab floor I was considered an incomplete but they told me there was a 90 % chance I would never walk again, but I have to say it has not been easy for me i only recieved about two weeks of PT after I came home and was able to bear weight on my lgs I had crushed my left femur in two different places and my right knee, was not able to bear weight for three months after I got out of the hospital, then I only recieved two weeks of PT before my insurance quit paying for it, the rest of all my therepy I have done on my own I do them everyday usually twice if not more I do my leg stretches and weights, and all types or crunches and situps I walk on a tred mill as much as I can and it just seems to come back to me I still have a ways to go but am trying very hard... you need your quads and control of your legs a bit of balance but I am also still working on that as well, I have fallen only a couple of times but haven't hurt my self in the process, it just takes practice and will power it does take alot of energy and I do get a lot of pain in my back afterwards but that is to be expected, I am a mother of a 10 yr old little girl and she is what keeps me going most of the time, so if there is any more questions feel free I am really enjoying meeting new people like myself and making new friends....

Hi Jodie Lynn

No questions from me Jodie. I just like to say, "keep it up and don't stop, for you will get it because you sound determined to regain your ability". Plus if the doctor says a 90% chance to walk again, that means you have a very good chance to walk again. With all the strength training you are doing you are going make it. You are on the right path to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Mind you just a small light at this time, but it will get bigger as you move forward
LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN A PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED BODY,
BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING----WOW----WHAT A RIDE!!!

Regards

Marty

I was told there is basically no chance for me unless there is a miracle that happens. I believe in miracles and I believe in trying, so I will :dunno:

Hey derek I believe in miracles myself as for me it is a miracle I made it out of the accident alive, my daughter made it out with just a couple of scratches now you tell me..... But like I said they told me there was a 90% chance I would never walk agin or have my movement back and look at me now.... So keep you thoughts high and through God anything is possible.......
