Im visiting central London next month for 3 days. Ive heard they ahve different rules about blue badges and that some councils only recognise their own badges not ones from elsewhere. Is this true? what should I look out for as I dont want to be ticketed, clamped or towed. Obviously this could be a bit inconvenient when using a wheelchair!!!

thanks

L

Hi,

I know Blue Badge holders qualify for a 100 per cent exemption from the congestion charge but you must register with Transport for London (TfL), before travelling.

There is more information here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/DisabledPeople/Mo...1061&chk=lH40Ue

As for where you can park, I'll leave that to answered by someone who lives in London!

Regards

Simon.

the scheme doesn't apply in central london. the dept of transport booklet "the blue badge scheme" has a section with information.

If you have a zero rated tax disc on your car, you do not need to register with TFL for the free congestion charge, you just don't get charged. This has always worked for me since the charging came in.

Hope this helps

Jules :)
