Hi All,

I am a student at Stanford University working on my thesis project on mobility equipment. I had one concept that I would like to pass by you and get some feedback.

This chair offers a different ergonomic position for sitting, also it allows for easy movement between standing and sitting positions of the chair. This is based on office chairs that are currently available, known as "kneeling chairs." I made a quick sketch for you guys to see.

I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!

Thanks a lot for the help.

Sincerely,
Chris Turitzin

It would cause a major problem with pressure sores on the knees. The weigh of the person would go through the knees almost entirely and you would end up with non healing sores

Tight hip flexors
Tight quadriceps
Tightened paraspinals
Weakened abdominals
Increased lumbar lordosis
Due to Anterior femoral angle (Knees lower than hips)

• Pelvis rotates rearward, trunk becomes kyphotic and hips slide forward
• Body mass behind center of gravity - client slides out
• Extensor tonal patterns may be triggered

Just for a medical perspective.

Thanks for the feedback.

I was curious to know if the medical issues you point out are specific to this position for wheelchair use, or do they apply also to the chair style for office use.

I have attached an image of an office version of the chair just for more info.

Thanks a lot!

Hey QuadMedic is your chair available outside SA? I've seen posts from people looking for something like you've designed and built. Howstable is the chair side to side?

Hey Simon

I'm currently in communications to get an agent in the US & UK, since we've had loads of enquires.

I might be shipping a chair to a guy in Florida that is sick of getting stuck and the hyped prices of off-road products in the states ... so i'm putting something together for him ... so let me know mate. Did some price research, I went to http://www.planetmob...tier/index.html
and the X5 "Price: $10895" starting ... wow this is alot and the X4 (4x4) "Price: $12895" and they say " We Guarantee The Worlds Lowest Price!" now this is damn scary since my 4 x 4 only costs US $ 8500.00 and my rear wheel drive off-road chair US $ 4300.00

Howstable is the chair side to side?
