Hey everyone. I just felt like "talking" about this before I go to the hospital in a few hours for yet another set of scans.

I'm still having the constant pins and needles, burning, tightness pain from my waist down. This I can deal with by keeping my mind busy even though no drugs provide any relief.

My main problem is approximately every other day or so I will get a stabbing, electrical, burning pain in my back left sacrum area. This pain totally shuts me down, no matter what position I put my body in. Sleep is the only cure and sometimes that doesn't work, like last night and this morning.

I'm having MRIs of my thoracic, lumbar, and sacrum areas. I've been pushing the docs for an MRI of my sacrum forever without any success. They say the pain is originating from my T and L injuries. Finally, about six months ago they ordered x-rays of my sacrum and didn't find anything that would be causing the pain. They did acknowledge the healing of the several sacrum fractures I had at the time of my accident, just a few days over three years now. I keep telling them it's like I have a pinched nerve in that area and my neurosurgeon has finally agreed to order a sacral MRI to get more detailed images.

I'm hoping that the MRI will show more detail and discover the source of my pain. It's becoming more difficult to deal with this as time goes on.

I just hope I can lay still enough to get good pictures today. The pain is at a very high level right now and when it hits it makes my whole body jerk. Maybe it will ease up some before I get to the hospital.

Well, I feel a little better just getting that out of my head. I know many of you suffer the same pains and I wish you luck in finding some relief.

Off for the morning BP, a hot bath and a few hours in the magnetic tunnel.

Everything went good with the MRI scans yesterday, despite the fact I was in the tube for over three hours. The MRI tech did the thoracic and lumbar scans first and then took me out of the machine. I had to transfer to a table while she prepared the scan table for the sacral scan, which she called a pelvic scan. Then she put an IV in my arm, for contrast dye to be added later. I was put back into the machine and she performed the pelvic scan without the contrast, pulled me back out of the machine, injected the dye into the IV, back into the machine for the pelvic scan with contrast.

After the pelvic scans were done, I had to transfer back to the other table so the tech could set up the scan table for the remaining thoracic and lumbar scans with contrast. Another transfer back to the scan table, back into the machine and then we were all done. It didn't really seam that it took as long as it actually did. The tech was great and made it as easy on me as possible.

I had a few sharp pains during the very first part of the scans and did jerk a few times but, the tech just said we need to do that set again. After that, the nerve pain subsided. I believe it was because I was noticing more of a bone pain in my pelvis from laying on the hard surface.

I'm off to see my neurosurgeon in a couple of hours with the CD of my scans in hand. Hopefully, he will be able to see something that we can fix. I don't have my hopes up because I don't want to be dissapointed.
