Im a c5 8yr post injury. I have had nerve pain in my butt for 6 yrs, Now it has developed in my stomach and pelvic area . The stinging gets worse with movement, even talking and eating, and is really limiting my quility of life. My pain moves to different spots after I slept, so I never know where its going to be centered each morning. I take 225mg of lyrica 2x, cybolta, and have a baclofine pump that also has some Marcan in it. The Dr. wants to try Prialt in my pump.
Has anybody used Prialt?

Hi, I suffer a lot of nerve pain I've not tried Prialt but do use high dose of Lyrica 250mg x 4 with Amitriptyline 100mg at night and Morphine sulphate morning and night.

We are all different and it takes time to get the right combination, give everything a try if it works great, if it doesn't go back and try something else.

My pain is thru the roof
It hurts to move, talking and eating makes it flare up to the point were it cripples me by noon time. Riding in my van is the worse, every little bump will make my pain terribe
Take a nap will make the pain move to different spots...butt, stomach, groin, pelvic
And it has gotten alot worse the past two years. I have had a mess of mri's & catscans and everything is normal

Wow just typing this made my pelvic pain increase

I currently have a pump (6-8 wks since surgery) with baclofen and prialt. Right now we are working on getting the correct balance of baclofen and prialt, but prialt seems to be helping with nerve pain right now. The prialt has allowed me to come off of methadone 3x/day and Hydrocodone (down to once a day) from 3x/day. So far, I think the prialt will be a good thing, once dosages have been figured out.

I have been getting sever nerve pain in my stomach and pelvic. It started 2yrs ago and rises to a 10+ when talking, eating and traveling. I'm going to start prialt in my baclofine pump. Im on a good dose of baclofine and Bupivacaine, used to help with my rectum pain I've had for 6yrs.
What kind of nerve pain do you have?
How long have you been on prialt
Any side effects?
Is it lowering your nerve pain

My wife was on Prialt. It worked well for her, she has a burning pain down her spine. We unfortunately can't afford it anymore. It was the only thing that has worked for her. She didn't have any side effects. I guess they worry about it making you crazy in the head. They usually try to up the amount you recieve slowly. My wifes dr and nurse tried a different method of using a high bolisc(sp?) and then let the pump run on its lowest setting. She got two a day, one big one in the morning to help for the day and a smaller one at night for sleeping. The great part is it is non narcotic so she never was out of it.
It did work well for her, but it cost $3200 usd every three weeks and after insurance and the dr visit it was still $800usd. I am trying to increase the income because it is the difference between my wife up and living or lying in bed.

I think it is well worth the try if you can get it. Best of luck to you and I am sorry for your struggle with pain.
