Greetings friends. I landed in Taiwan last Thursday to join my mate for the winter after spending an entire month by myself ((fluffing of feathers). The first week is inevitably devoted to sleeping, trying not to, or trying to, but today i ventured down to the apartment complexes exercise room to try and master a different brand of stationary bike. After struggling for 15 minutes an old guy parked himself on the bike next to mine and revved that sucker up nearly as slow as me, which is barely enough to keep it going around. When I say old, he must be nearly as old as GB, which is a few years older than me.

He speaks some English so we talked. It turns out he had a wreck 6 years ago, and I'm guessing he is a low T or Lumbar incomplete.

My building has a 5 PM Crip Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you believe my good fortune?

Oh, feeling so much better....

Oh dear. Tetra is going to be soooo bored when she finds out it's a CRIB club where all the old dodderers sit round little circular tables, with their green eye shades, playing cribbage for match sticks.. Not a lap-dancer in sight. :w00t:

Waddya mean? Nearly as old as me? Snotty kids getting uppity!! Ha.

Carpe Diem

Oh I want to play...........are you sure he didn't say whip club? You know those S&M clubs originated in Taiwan during the 60's by a group of stoned pygmies from Switzerland. Please look for gordonr while over there. You know the rumor is he's hiding out in a brothel that is being run by those dang pygmies.

Anyway........have a good time and may you and yours stay healthy. :bye:

I cannot possibly search all the KTVs for Gordon. KTV is a franchise of swanky clubs, and people are embarrassed if I think they have been to one, so they must be over the top.

I will NOT eat cabbage for matchsticks, GB.

I got back here 2 weeks ago. It is Autumn Moon Festival and the 17 floor luxury apt complex is roasted a spitted pig out front. At this moment there heavy rain and bright sunlight. Wow.

That's awesome luck indeed. And Taiwan!! What a beautiful island!! I spent a year in Taichung as a kid (24 years ago). I have such great memories of being there. Didn't much fancy the open meat markets but places like Sun moon lake were just breath taking! I envy you :)

Levi, you would be shocked at the changes in Taichung! The city has at least tripled in area and population. Anyway, I am in Taichung and will try to post pics for you.

That would be awesome!! I heard there was a huge earthquake there some years ago and that it did a number on Taichung. Not sure how accurate that was but it sounds like the city is thriving. There's this muscle/pain reliving oil there called "green oil". Have you heard of it? I had a lot of ankle problems as a kid and I remember that stuff being a miracle cure.
