So,

Has anyone seen any good films at the cinema lately?

The last one I went to see was The Pink Panther. It was ok, a bit stupid, but I laughed regardless.

So, what have you seen?

Seeing as my wife gets free entry to the cinema (see this thread), I've no excuse now!

talking about cinemas i've been two after my accident. the first one i just sat in my chair the whole time and i feelt like an odd ball because one i was siting a lot higher then anyone and + i was not comfy(siting up not doing any thing for 2 hours nothing to lean on) so this last time i sat in a cinema set and it was alot better, just make sure you wont have to go to the bathroom and try to be there befor any one and it's better to be the last one to leave.

i was just wandering if any one will share with us if they sit in a cinema set or not? and how good did it go.

Yesterday I went to see "Da Vinci's Code" It wasn't bad at all, but for someone who read a book - like me, it could have been better.

Wheelchair access at my local movie theatre (Burbank, CA AMC) is really good and plentiful. Ten yrs. ago, there was 1 spot for a wheelchair and usually you can't sit next to the person you came with. Bummer if yoy're on a date lol.

Also now I get to buy my ticket at a booth seperate from the long lines, and be 1st get in-even if there's a line. The last movie I saw was The Da vinci Code and The X-men . I liked them both. My puppy is named after Wolverine:"Logan" (He's the puppy in my avatar)

On DVD, the last I saw as a movie called "Waiting" It is craaazy! Not something for the kiddies.

I go to the movies a lot. At least once a week. Sometimes twice. For me that's a lot.

Surprisingly enough, we still have a couple of drive-ins around here. :( You get two movies for the same price of one at a cinema, and there are five screens, so you can choose which second movie you want to watch. I prefer the drive-in to the cinemas, although I did go to the cinema to see
The DaVinci Code' a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't read the book, but I did watch several documentaries on it, and I think that must've ruined the experience for me, because I wasn't too impressed with the movie. Maybe all the hype caused it to be anti-climactic for me.

Other than that, we saw 'Over the Hedge' (animated), and 'RV' with Robin Williams last week at the drive-in. The first was tolerable, for a kid's show....'RV' was funny...kinda slapslick, but hey...it's Robin Williams. I laughed out loud more than a couple of times, and that's no small thing.

I don't go to the movies too much. Much too high for me.
But if you like DVD, we rented chronicles of narnia, which was better than I thought it would be.
Good movie for the entire family.

I've seen most of what you have all mentioned here in the past few weeks however I'll throw a suggestion in for an older one that is available to rent. It's called Babette's Feast and although it is a very slow start (and seemingly dreary) it's a good watch. I found a lot of humor in it personally.

PS> It has subtitles but they are easy to follow and since you have to rent it you can rewind if necessary

I went this weekend to see the Breakup. It was pretty good and funny, yet sad too.

I also watched the Ringer on DVD. It was about fixing the Special Olympics. Kinda corny.
On another note, I saw that they are coming out with Jackass 2!!! I cannot wait till that gets here. I loved the first one and all the shows. I miss Viva La Bam too. http://www.jackassmovie.com/

We saw "Cars" and "Shaggy Dog" this past weekend. We had intended to switch screens for the second movie and see something more geared for adults, but we were too lazy and fat from all the popcorn, candied apples, etc., and so we just stayed parked.

"Cars" is a cute film. Somehow they've managed to create a world of living, breathing, talking cars that's believable....okay, you do have to suspend your disbelief in order to fully enjoy it....but if you're capable of doing that, it's enjoyable.

"Shaggy Dog" was excruciatingly predictable...so I spent most of that time cleaning out my car. ;)

Yea I saw that one a couple weeks ago, Mickey, I didn't read the book so I guess it was pretty good. It's more of an insight of what the book is going to be like, now once I get my hands on the book, muhahaha, I bet it's going to be great.

I am so envious that you have drive -in movie theatre's. We don't have them over here, but when i was young i lived in Australia and they had drive-ins there, it was great!
I love to go to the cinema with my girls, we went last week to see, Just my luck, they love Lindsay Lohann, you see! We aven't got Cars over here yet, but do you recomend it?,we saw the trailer for it, it didn't look too bad, but i just love going ,eating popcorn etc..

We went to the movies last night-Pirates of the Carribean-Dead Man's Chest-and it got 3 thumbs up from us! Hope it doesn't take them so long to make #3.

We live in a small town and can you believe that we can actually go to the movies, first run, for $3! Of course, if you want a small popcorn and a small soda it's $5 but honestly we can afford to go to the movies here. Same movies at the big Multi-Plex theaters in the cities are $8.

So who stays in their chair in the wheelchair bay and who transfers into the cinema seat? I always transfer - one day I'll get my mates to bump me up the steps so I don't have to sit at the front :D

I stay in my chair, but our cinemas are quite accessible - I'm at the back (or somewhere in the middle), and there are seats next to the wheelchair gaps for friends, hubby, children ....

On the odd occaion the wheelchair spaces have been booked (I can never be bothered to ring and book) but there is a ramp down to the screen, so I could sit in any row at the end if I wanted to sit in a cinema seat

Last few films watched:

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - too long for the kids, so I spent half my time in the foyer
Da Vinci Code - not as good as the book, but OK
Over the Hedge - took the kids to see it and they loved it

Planning on seeing Garfield 2 and Cars soon as its the summer holidays, and got to entertain the kids. Are these any good?

Also want to see Spiderman 3 when it comes out - looks great (saw the trailer and loved Spiderman 1 and 2)
