Since the publication of my children’s novel, 'Lula and the Rainbow Rocket,’ an adventurous story about a feisty, young heroine in a wheelchair, a favourable review by the editor of the Spinal Injuries Association UK has helped to generate interest and sales. Please see www.lularocket.com
I wrote my novel for disabled and able-bodied children, with the ages 8-12 in mind, but I’ve since heard that young adults and beyond enjoy reading it. So far, Lula’s oldest fan is a gentleman of 88!
I am happy to inform you that my book (paperback) is available at www.Amazon.com and www.Amazon.co.uk First click on to www.lularocket.com for easy access. An e-book is also available via www.lularocket
There are now fantastic savings until March 2011.
My hope is that my novel will continue to inspire young people (and old!)
Kind regards,
Hazel Boomkamp-Lee ( occupational therapist, retired)

This book tells of a wonderful fantasy that I think will grip the imaginations of both children and adults alike. The main character, Lula, will remind many readers of rambunctious and fearless young girls who have hearts of gold. Lula is a youth who really embraces life and lives each day to its fullest. I like the way the author vividly develops the various characters (they seem to come alive and leap off of the page) and reveals the plots (delightful twists and turns) in easy to digest chapters. As I read the book, I found myself mentally cheering for Lula during her many misadventures (fasten your seat belt) and booing some other characters who act mean and spiteful (let's say "villanous"). Also, there were times when some of the characters touched my heart and that doesn't happen often when I read fiction. I wondered what the "rainbow rocket" was going to be all about, and when it was finally revealed -SURPRISE! (I won't spoil the surprise for future readers, but you'll be delighted.) The author, Hazel Boomkamp-Lee, has quite an imagination and really knows how to tell a suspenseful story. Although the book ends on a positive note, I was sad when it ended, since I wondered about the future lives of the characters. Hopefully, there will be a sequel (maybe a whole series) for this fascinating book, once the word gets out about this engaging fantasy. Obviously, if you haven't already noticed, I highly recommend this book, especially for young readers, since it is both entertaining and inspirational. Three cheers for Lula!
