So from what I understand after physical healing there should be rehab.
This is where you become independent and learn everything you need to know about what just happened and how you are going to move on.

But,
Is there a place that is cutting edge kick ass super duper high ratings amazing people that push you to conquer the world - kind of rehab?
Can anyone recommend something?

Doesn't really matter what country its in, as long as it is this planet.

What are things to look for?
Experiences anyone might have and do's and don'ts?

the best rehabs in america are craig in denver and sheppard in atlanta. make sure the rehab you choose is a spinal rehab.

good luck,

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

Ah ok, someone called me today from Craigs.

I went to their site and have a brochure on the way. I guess it helps to have a referral.

Anything else I need to know?

thanks

The only place that meets all and even surpasses your criteria is real life. Rehab services will take a person so far with the basics but the real rehab begins at home and in the community and has everything to do with attitude. Best of luck in finding what is right for your brother.

I was at Kessler. They were great, but it is true, the real rehab is when you are home. The routine you set for yourself will define your recovery. And let's hope you do see some recovery.

Sheppard in Atlanta is amazing...

It's where my fiance did his rehab 18 yrs ago, and they are still incredible.

That's where he learned to water ski as well, while he was doing his rehab.

I am in agreement with rmorgan and Mellow Gator: Shepherd Center in Atlanta. As far as rehab goes, it is an incredible place. My personal experience is I went from bed confined to passing my driving eval and being able to live alone with no issues from early May to July 1st of this year.
