Hi I have a Jay cushion with a gel pad in it. I have noticed recently the gel pad keeps coming unattached from the base. It is held on by velcro strips, the softer loops being on the gel pad itself and the harder hooks being on the base cover.

The reason the gel pad is moving is because the velcro softer loops on the pad have become worn down to a state of disrepair. Has anyone managed to remove them and fit new ones as they are stuck on. I sppoke to Gerald Simmonds, they say no replacements are available from Jay, which is a shame as the cushion otherwise is in great shape.

That there is no replacement from Jay is probably a good thing. Wherever I have seen manufacturers providing little bits of velcro, in fancy OEM packaging, the price tag goes up somewhat.

Pop into John Lewis (or wherever, buy online) and buy some sticky velcro, and then just redo it yourself.

Go to B&Q or halfords or homebase and go to the section where they sell glue and other fixings. You can by there industrial strength velcro (both sides of it) with a self adhesive back to it, peel and stick. I used it to stop the cushion moving about on my chair
