Tom, congrats....it was beautifully written. I actually shared the story with my colleagues at work on that day (we have a sharing session every morning)....they were moved. I happen to be in Paris for the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and I can't tell you how moved I was during testimonials of survivors....

Excellent, Tom!
What is amazing to me is the fact that there are still to this day with so much information available, some who still don't believe that this happened, nor do they acknowledge what is happening in countries as we speak. There is a simple out-of-sight, out-of-mind factor that can keep people blinded in their everyday lives to the horrors that go on even now.
It is vital to remember these things, to value human life. It is the value we put on human life that makes the difference in our actions. For those of us who do not know these experiences personally through relatives or friends, it is especially important to to learn about these things, the horrible things humans are capable of to avoid repeating history.
What I cannot get my head around are those medical people who just follow orders or really anyone who would follow someone's instructions to the letter without regard for what they are doing to human beings, thinking they are not responsible for the actions of their own hands, that the responsibility lies somewhere up the ladder. It is not only the murders of these people, we must remember, but also the tortures done in the name of 'science'.
Thank you Tom for sharing this with us. I have appreciated it deeply.
