HI all:
My pump seems to be slowly getting to a good dose {keeping fingers crossed and a lot of prayer}. and the doctors are thinking the probelms I had with my recent dosing {increased spasticity, weak reflexes and weak to moderate tone} may have been due to the doctor increasing the dose too quickly and not evaluating the problems that had beeen building for two weeks and or the Baclofen was getting too old . . . . The Bacloen had been in my pump for almost 5 months when I started having problems. I have a synch. II pump and I know it was recently approved for six months between refills. I have heard from a few other people who do notice a decrease in symptom relief after the three month mark. Also during that time period I had a major revsion done. Has anyone else noticed a decrease or change of symptoms control near the time of a refill, espically since this new FDA ok?

Hi Willow,

I used to get my pump refilled after 6 months as well. I always found spasticity increased the month before the refill.

I was told this was because the pump is not accurate when the resevoir gets below a certain level.

I now have a gas pump, which needs refilling after 3 months, and still get the increased spasticity when the pump gets around 5 or 6 mls.

Apparently, it's not uncommon.

Regards

Simon.
