I am the service broker for a 27 year old spastic CP. He has required full care all his 27 years. One of the nicest experiences afforded him is getting into a swimming pool. There is a wide concrete ramp at the pool. His Mom and sister transport him from the dressing room down the ramp into the pool on a hapless chair with rollers. As Ben is often in extension mode this is very dangerous. I am trying to find a conveyance which he can ride in, allowing for changing of his clothiing and transport into water (cannot be wook and metal is even iffy due to maintenance being exposed to water) Once in the water his sister floats him around, ranges his limbs and generally gives him a wonderful experience. He does not hae any volunteer movement and water gives him a new level of being. At the public facility there is not the option of a lift and Mom prefers a chair of some sort. Given the right pvc constructed chair with a back that has a couple of recline positions, with a seat high enough so his 4'11" torso doesn't risk touching the ground, Ben could go to the pool weekly instead of monthly. If you have any companies or other resources you can recommend.....Please offer them.

i had a look round for you but alot of the recling pool chairs are crazy expensive but i saw this one. i know its very basic but a little modification could have ben in and out of the water in no time! If you lived in the uk id do the mods myself as from what youve said it would probably need more padding

oh one thing thats important, and i have dangerously assumed, that you either have big enough vehicle to transport or its being stored in the leisure centre
