Please read this thread for further info…for example, all you need is your DD-214 in order to qualify for VA benefits! Please know to also just ask, as someone here may have an answer. Airart has first-hand knowledge on this…and Snakeye is the “go to guy” for VA and HUD housing!!

Excellent points! My brother's disability level has been increased due to Agent Orange exposure and its effects...and PTSD is finally seen for its true devastation...there are counsellors with whom Vets may speak and receive assistance with filing...I will try to get a direct name and number if possible...Unbeknown to some...all honorably discharged US military veterans are qualified for VA health care, whether they served in a combat zone or not...Except for service-connected conditions care is fee based depending on your income..for example...$8.00 per perscription deduction...Also, the VA has eased the requirments for filing and recieving disability benefits for agent orange or PTSD...

Excellent first hand info! Thanks airart!i use mine all the time, new equipment, anything u need, especially fully disabled, para-quads, the only thing with me is i didnt know it for 15 years!!! dumb butt me for not checking, would of saved me a couple 100 grand or so......just in insurance payments.........when i closed my stores in 2000, i was paying 1600 a month for private insurance.......they run me thru the ringer with tests once a year in the memphis SCI care unit, at least u get all the equipment u need and piece of mind, plus if your service connected they will totally remodel your house if non-service connected they have a 1 time allowance of 1200 bucks, not alot but does help, in 3 years i've gotten 2 chairs 4 cushions 2 extra set of spinergys and 2 shower benches, and i mean the nice 500 dollar ones, basically i get new stuf every year and if u have a low income, i dont know what the cut off is but no deductible on any meds or equipment.....then i use my local VA for GP, but i still keep a private urologist........best 4 years i spent, i've already got my money from them, plus my flap surgery was free and they took darn good care of me........just need your dd 214! oh and they will of course pay for a mod on your vehicle every 4-5 years, u have to buy the vehicle and they prefer new, so they will do a 20 grand mod on you a van every 4-5 years, sweet or any other vehicle, i've been looking at the new GMC 4x4 that they do a drop floor and the whole side of the truck is the ramp, its pretty sweet.......if your a veteran its a no brainer......

*Even if one goes over the income cut-off and are not service connected the co-pay for meds is only $9.00 per 30 day supply and an office visit is $15 while specialty visits are fifty bucks. Not bad really.. Whether over-incomed or under-incomed one still gets free wheelchairs, ramps, lift for the truck and tons more
plus once a year spinal cord clinic...I've been going to the VA since 1990.......

VA hospital in DC a great place but difficult to get to, with no highway in, just surface roads...but plenty of real help there...
Beautiful VA hospital down the road from me here in FL...mixed reports, but still, mostly good and worth the effort,of course, to "get in" and receive care...
Remember, Snakeye is a good "go to" guy for the ins and outs of VA workings along with HUD housing! Air art also knows the VA's workings! Hey, Rollingtrouble could help, too! Let's get the word out to vets re: all the benefits available...!

WA Air National Guard 1/1984- 8/85
Idaho Air National Guard 8/85 -8/86
CA Air National Guard 8/86- 8/98
I worked as a Ground Radio Operator. I learned morse code I put up our own antennas. My job was to provide communication wherever it was needed.
In WA I was in rapid deployment flight
In Idaho, I worked on providing communications to the F4 and taking down specific information and passit along to correct personnel
In CA, I did a variety of different communication jobs. I left my last unit as a staff sgt. I supervised 5 other RO.
It was the military that helped pay for my college education. It also gave me a sense of unity with my fellow soldiers. it was difficult to leave my 2 babies so I left the military.
I thank all our VETRANS for their SERVICE. I salute you!

I honestly don't know if I qualify for any medical benefits through the VA. I'm not sure how to find outthey recategorized me this year to a 4, i don't have to pay a deductible on any benefits, hospital stays, supplies, etc......i assumed the paraplegia....... do you use your benefits Jeanette, i hope you do, it is alot better than it ever was, even the bad places are better than alot of small private hospitals.........they at least have all the new equipment, which is cool........i'm also thank you for your love of country.........

Here's hoping all our Veterans [and everyone for that matter, of course!] receive the best of care...
Carry on as Living reminders...Memorial Day is upon us to honor those fallen for freedom...
Thank you and those no longer with us, for your service...
