I wish to start a project in one of my local towns outside Sydney Australia relating to access to shops in a specific area to start of with by means of an Audit of said premmises and then issuing the shops that pass the audit a deacal for the shop front so that it is readily identifiable.
Any ideas, and any ideas about a possible logo incorporating the international disabilty symbol.
Has this been done in the UK US Canada or anywhere else?

dfnapier,
If I could offer a guess as to what you're saying, it's regarding making all businesses accessible for wheelchair use, right? If I'm on the right track then the US has something called the "Americans for Disabilities Act (ADA), that has laid out guide lines for accessibility into all new facilities, buildings, and dwelling structures, as well as bathrooms, etc. As you can guess, the universal wheelchair sign is used to signify that these locations are ADA compliant.
So, although your idea is a good one, it thankfully isn't new, and can be seen utilized throughout most of the US. The problem still lies then, with those who aren't in compliance with the ADA. Always be vocal when you see a violation. Make sure that facility knows it's not to code. Very often it's nothing more than a very easy fix to resolve the issue.
