I am a quad but I can sweat. I have noticed that my butt sweats a LOT. When I go to PT, the therapist used to ask if I'd had an accident bc my behind would be all wet. Mind you, I do live in AZ, so it's hot here, but does anyone else have the same problem, or advice on how to remedy it??
Thanks

Maybe you could try some extra strength deodorant?

And or Talc.
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

Wheeliebar1,

Does your PT occur while you are in your wheelchair? If it does, a Stimulite cushion may help.

Not deodorant, but anti-antiperspirant will help. What kind of cushion are you on? If its rubber (roho) or plastic/jell that keeps the sweat in. Foam, simulite, sheep skin or terry cloth covers help. Wheelchair push ups to let your butt breath.

Try wearing light weight relaxed clothing allowing your skin to breathe or moisture wicking athletic wear. AireRx makes a cushion with a fan in the front that draws air through a channel under your butt ..... it works very well in the summer i have one and it comes with a charger for the fan. Cost was 125.00 dollars and is returnable if you dont like it . Try to give your chair plenty of clearance for air circulation. What about balmX its used to prevent diaper rash with a protective barrier and can be purchased from a drug or grocery store. Good luck with that sweat issue.
