Summer is right around the corner and Im super stoked to get back on the water. This is my third summer sit skiing and am very interested in competition skiing but the trick skiing looks a little beginner. I noticed for trick skiing nobody uses a tower. I would be interested in seeing the rules for competitions. Before I was paralyzed I would be wakeboarding 2-3 times a week in the summer and snowboarding 2 times a week in the winter. I was never a pro but I can say I was pretty dam good. Its hard to give up the tower and the BIG air for competition so I havent done it. Any one else know what im talking about?

i know what you're talking about, before my accident i was wakeboarding 3 times a day (before work, lunch break & after work), & skiing at least 4 days a week, i lived 5 min from the lake & 20 min from the mountain, great place to grow up. i haven't been waterskiing since my injury, now i just drive the boat for my buddies. it's great to just still be out there

So, after reading this I feel a little like an asshole. Beginner was a wrong choice of words because I understand everyone trains hard and if your competing in the sport you're most likely not a beginner. But if I am training for a sport I want to do it big. Towers let me go big so thats where im going to stay for now.

I live in the california central valley. The delta is 15 from my house and the lake 45. Sounds awesome to be so close and do so much riding. Get out there and ride again! Why havent you tried it out?

How much does your average sitski cost? Was big into Skiing pre-injury. Also, does any ski resort/slopes allow it?

Matthew, bro, let me tell you. You are not the only one who is competitive and loves wakeboarding. I have been wakeboarding for two years now and this past summer was my first time competing. But I compete outside of the USA Waterski organization. In 2011, the WWA/INT League added adaptive divisions to their contests. Im not sure if you are familiar with WWA or INT League but they are wakeboarding organizations that run events all over the world. WWA, World Wakeboarding Association, has allowed me to compete under a new division called "Extremities". Now, INT League has the same rules as WWA but they are more grassroots than big PRO Riders like WWA supports. I beleive there is a INT in NorCal so you should check it out. I have a few videos from this years riding. I am also the very first ever INT US Champion in Wakebaord Extremities.

I ride behind all the major brand boats with towers and ballast sacked out. My fav is riding behind the Super Air Nautique 230 with fully loaded ballast plus another 1500 lbs added to it. The wake is massiveon that thing. It literally is taller than I am when Im on the water. Its like running into a brick wall and then being slung over it. Freakin Awesome!!!
I have also ridden the cable systems that are in Florida and we have one here in North Carolina. Definitely a great time!
Here is a link to my youtube channel which has a few videos. http://www.youtube.c...n?feature=chclk
