Sorry to hear you're suffering.

I had the worst night in about a year last night, couldn't lie down, couldn't sit up, spasms from my tip toes to my ribcage, AD headaches from hell, eventually gave up at 5 am did my bowel routine (after failing to transfer from my bed to Shower chair 4 times!) back to bed and took so many pills I felt nothing and basically passed out for about 3 hours then pain got me again.

Not looking forward to tonight to be honest.

I hope you have a better time tonight.

Davidson? My friend, Davidson? What is going? Do you have pain meds? Could you smoke something? Is it generalised pain or specific? I am sorry to hear this...I feel for you...and identify...thank G-d you have your wife for comfort...she is a blessing for you...

I'm so sorry you're hurting (you too, Colin). Thank God that we have good days and bad days, or I think we'd all be in the loony bin. (Maybe they would give us good knock out drugs there!) Wish I could give you an answer. When my pain increases I usually try something different, hoping maybe it will trick my body. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Best wishes to you.

Hello, I don't really know what I am doing here as I am brand new to the forum. Hope this is correct format for response.
I am sorry to hear of your cry-out-loud pain. Has any sort of pain regimen or medication helped when you have been at this high level of intensity?
I live in the mountains in Northern California, USA. Medical marijuana is legal here. I am often encouraged to try this as an answer to days or nights with severe nerve pain due to barometric pressure change. I am very reluctant for a variety of reasons, one being that I don't want to feel drugged or "dopey". Is that something you have considered?

I'm one of MANY who has far far too much expertise in this area. At times it feels like my feet are being gnawed off by invisible ants that are prone to take a stroll up the backs of my thighs & take a few nibbles there too. And then yes there is the standard BACK pain. Taken all sorts of Rx for it. Currently smoke pot & use some prescriptions which has me crying & puking less + having less awak-a-thons where no matter how drugged I can't get comfy enough to SLEEP for 2 or 3 days at a time.

We'd all love to help but we don't know much aside from that you're in a LOT of pain.

Your wife is a blessing & am glad she is there for you.

hey,

2 tips that i have been given which will help to mediate the pain 1. having a bath (if this is an option for you; I must admit I haven't tried yet but will soon - wish me luck) 2. Activity. I suppose focussing on another task; meds numb your brain and help you to ignore pain rather than target the area which is hurting so I guess it stands to reason that trying to concentrate on another task may help????

I have become acquainted with someone who has been injured 10 years and he has been really helpful in suggesting ways I can 'solve' problems. I must admit when I have had bad nights when I'm so tired but I cant sleep due to pain or what ever the last thing I want to do is get up and 'potter' bu

I hope this is of some use.

Take it easy,
Broc

Yeah, the pain thing sucks! In addition to my "herbal remedy" I try and relax my body as much as possible. I try to ignore the pain by mentally cancelling the signals. I get intense pins and needles in from my finger tips to my elbows and from my toes to my hips plus it feels like I've got bugs squirming under my skin. These sensations exacerbate my spasms. They are the worst in the middle of the night after my meds start wearing off, so sleeping can be a huge challenge some nights.

I know it sounds hokey but I can usually quell my symptoms by using mental relaxation, at least to a bearable level. This may or may not work for all but it does help me some. The herb is what really helps, it works better than my Baclofen and Neurontin.

Hurb ;)

I've been having a severe back pain under my right scapula bone, where it rest on the top of the hard backing of my electric wheelchair. when using computer or driving chair, bone protrudes out & rubs or rests on back causing severe pain. the pain is a constant 10 now W/ no pain meds to help.. everyone has there own specific pain. its a trial & error to find what meds work. i myself havent found anything to work, including morphine. i've beedn sci almost 13yrs now & still fighting the pain......... :ranting:

I just posted about similar pain. My post is a little long. I have found ibuprofen to help the most as it reduces the swelling. I take 600 mg every four hours not to exceed 2400 mg daily. Massage therapy focusing on "trigger points" along the spine and around the scapular help as well. I'm still trying to find the fix myself though. Hope this helps.
