Just thought I would let you all know after deciding not to have the high risk surgery on my lungs and to just get on with my life and do as much as I could whilst I still can. To this end I decided to do Reading half marathon for Guys and St Thomas' and Evelina Childrens hospital charity. I raised over £500 and just actually ended up winning the womens wheelchair race in 1.59 hours. There were some killer hills but the support on the way round and in the Madjeski Stadium at the end was amazing.
I am going to be doing my sponsored walk for the Matt Hampson Foundation (helping people serious injured in sport) and special effect, a charity which uses technology to overcome disability which is 110 miles in 7 days at the end of May so I that is my next aim.
Thanks for all of your support whilst I was making my decision and I definitely think I made the right one. I am having a scan again next week to check on the size of the growths in my lungs so I will be able to update you all more then.

Thanks everyone, I have just ordered one of the "official" photos online so as soon as I can download it I will post it. Two of my friends (one of whom is a walking quad and is also doing the Matt Hampson walk with me)came to cheer me on in the stadium. When the stadium announcer announced that the leading female wheelchair athlete was just about to come into the stadium, they couldn't say who it was because when you are in a racing chair you can't see the athlete's run number, Nicky said she couldn't watch but Matt started shouting its Jules - she's got a red crash helmet on, at which point Nicky burst into tears. My training partner Rach who is abled bodied was about 25 mins behind me because we were started off first and with 18500 runners it took her 25mins to cross the start line, but she ended up doing a PB too in 2hrs36secs.

Wow!!!
I'm amazed, particularly as pre-injury I used to live just by the route in Whitley Wood, and there's some really nasty hills there, horrible for able-bodied on a bicycle, hate to think how nasty they are in a wheelchair!

There were some really nasty hills, one at about mile 2-3 and another one as we went into the city centre at about mile 6 and finally one at about mile 8. The last 2 miles were a gentle but long slight uphill gradient too!
