I have very bad spasticity, sometimes when I am in my wheel chair my feet will not stay on the rests because they stick out. Often when I try to stand my legs cross or hurt so much I just need to sit back down. When I try to sleep at night my legs shoot out basically causing much pain. I take Baclofen 120 mg a day, any other suggestions to help with this.

I can hardly bear to cope with sitting up. I do so, just to keep me muscles working but then its becomes unbearable due to spasm and I have to lay down. It feels though I am 9 months pregnant with a baby rolling around in me stomach - except its not in me stomach its in me back
I am also unable to stand still and have to move around. Its now affecting both of me feet and I have rigid toes.
Baclofens ok - the brilliant thing is massage and if you can afford it, the king of all treatments -
Botox

Hannibal,
I say again, the absolute best thing you can do for spasms is marijuana. Period. I know exactly the strong spasms you speak of. Legs shooting out and the muscle contracting with incredible strength, or dragging you out of the wheelchair. Pot and regular stretching will stop all the kicks, burning and high tone, everything but the most reactive spasms.. It just works. I dunno what your personal stance on pot is, but you should try it, or keep swallowing the pills that kill your liver..
pinkcloud,
I would recommend the same except for the pregnancy..Local botox may be the best thing for you.

I actually would really like to do pot for my spasims, but I live in Maryland where they dont allow medical marijuana. I have tried to stand with my walker to help, causing sitting down my legs get worse, but if I stand I get too tired. Yea I wish people would wake up and realize they benefits of pot.

Oh lol I am not pregnant, I meant the spasms are so bad, it 'feels' like it does when a baby is inside and rolls around
I do agree with you, that smoking pot is, by what I read, the best and safe-est as like you say, the medications kill the liver.
I cant smoke it, as it dosnt agree with me head, it makes me very scared. Plus its illegal here in this country and the hassle I would have to try and keep myself in the stuff would be too expensive and difficult to come accross. I totally agree with people using it though if they like it.
My pain management consultant works with professional jockeys that got SCI thorough horse-racing. He explained spasms are one thing, nerve pain another. The botox freezes the muscles so that the spasms stops, the cord gets a change to be re-progammed at an unconcious level that its over-reacting and in time, the spasms should reduce. The botox reduces the spasms and the pain meds reduces the nerve pain. The good thing about pot is that it helps relax all the body so I agree, if you can hack it, have that
