I have a bag I hang on my push handle (power chair). Before I got this, I carried a plastic bag of supplies on my footplate and held in place by my feet and legs. My other chair has a pouch on back of the seat. I also keep supplies in my van, just in case. I cannot lock my keys in my van as I have to close the sliding door and folding ramp with the fob.

Good luck and good memory.

EMS!! I was thinking about you the other day, hadnt see you around here.. was wondering how you were doing.. and wondering what the postal service ended up doing with 1000 lost catheters!

Back to the post, I'm a ditz I have forgotten a few times.. nothing to do but head home or to a med store and pray for the best. I've made the mistake of not taking a cath with me when just running across the street for a half hour. Its always times like that I suddenly n urgently need to piss. :badmood:

i have gone out without a cathater before and it was miserable. i was out of town to watch my daughter's soccer game. i ended up riding home sitting on a chux. it's something i hope i don't ever forget again. i always try to keep my car stocked up. i don't use k-y and gloves to cath so that's not an issue.
hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

I gort a couple and a couple of bags in my car glove boz and I also have a little wallet thing that I got from Coloplast that carries 2 LoFric Primo catheters coiled up and a couple of gloves, try to remember to put it in my jacket pocket or my ruck sack.

Failing that make a dash for the nearest pharmacy and hope for the best!

Yeah I did it once. I was in a panic for a while until I calmed down, took stock of the situation and did a bit of lateral thinking

I remembered seeing a movie once where this guy was choking to death and this other guy got a pen and performed an emergency tracheotomy, you know the drill.

worked a treat.
Now I never leave the house without a pen in my pocket and my trusty pocket knife.

I've never forgotten them. I'm obsessive/compulsive. I carry two "kits" with me in my fanny pack that also has my wallet, keys, etc (things I can't forget). A "kit" is a sandwich bag with a catheter, a papertowel, and an individual "wet one" to clean up with.

And, in the catch-all under my wheelchair seat, I have a pack with another 10 catheters (or so) and lubricant.

I take this much with me if I just go to Walmart and back (and I didn't even mention the change of clothes - opps I just mentioned it).

I just bought another box of 100 of them and they're everywhere now. The car, the office, the purse, my second purse. I even made a little black bag that I can discretely put in the purse and when I pull it out, everything's covered and it just looks like a make up bag. I have some at my parent's and sister's house too, cause hell, you never know.

Forgot them once when my mom took me for a drive. I think I was 14 at the time, and I was so mortified that 12 years later I have never forgotten one since.

I also keep spare clothes in the filing cabinet at work. And a towel in the car. And more clothes. And a trash bag, which sounds stupid, but if you're driving and you just can't pull over or something when the urge hits, at least there's a back up plan/cover.

I keep them stashed in all sorts of places

If you are in the USA you can buy them but really expensive and some places require a doctors prescription. Also I believe coloplast will put you in contact with places to get them in an emergency

I have left home without but never been far from home when i realised. Once used a sheath n leg back as a back up. More often i have actually run out completely at home usually believing i have another box left. I then do a trawl of coats, jackets, sports bags, car, chair etc etc to find as many as single caths as i can. Usually gets me by!!! I once had to call GP for advice and he put me in touch with District Nurses who let me have a pack. I once forgot to order my repeat prescription for them just before we went on holiday and was sweating the day before flight waiting for them, to be deilvered. I guess we are all human but i am particularly disorganised!!!

I now have two packs stored at my parents house as a fall back.

I like the idea of having a stash. I really need to
