Hello Everyone,
Been a while since I've been around, and just browsing the topics makes me realize how much I miss the place and the people that understand.

Things have been ok on this end. My SCI symptoms have seemingly gotten a bit worse over the last 6 months. But it only really sucks on the inside.

My question today has to do with trying to apply for more life insurance post SCI I purchased life insurance before my injury, and my financial advisor has brought up trying to apply for more life insurance. However, he did state that this may be very difficult given my injury. I had never considered this, and it was a bit of a smack in the face. But, at the same time it's simply the reality of the situation.

I have an appointment to be evaluated by an independent physician as well as provide a urine sample. questions for the group...

Has anyone applied for more life insurance post-sci? If so, what was the medical evaluation experience like? Because of past issues with medical insurance companies I am a bit concerned about this process.

I'm also curious about how life insurance companies treat medicinal marijuana.

As always, I appreciate the knowledge of those on this site. take care.

I was in the Life Insurance industry prior to my accident. I hate to say it, but good luck getting any kind of life coverage point blank and if you are lucky enough to find someone to accept you, get ready to get raked over the coals financially. Not to mention they will never give you a large face amount. Probably looking at something more like a burial policy if anything at all. That could be anywhere between $5000 and $15,000. I'm no expert but these are just my assumptions that I assume would be fairly accurate. Best of luck anyway! Let me know how you make out please.
If you don't try, you fail.
