A question for you, this may sound like i am such a bimbo but i'm ok with bimbo

Me legs move sooooooooo fast when they spasm, if they moved that fast when i was an ab - i would have been an olympic swimmer.

Me questions are:

1. They smash me feet on the floor but I cant feel pain, am I damaging them? Is that why they
last so long because they are being damaged more? Even on left side thats hypersensitive
they dont hurt which is very bizarre to me.

2. Me sons and friends who have stayed over said this happens in me sleep but i dont wake
up, is this causing damage at night.

3. It starts anytime and sometimes if I am out I have to walk back - its like they are
wobbley jelly, I dont even know how I manage it but I do. How damaging is this?

4. Me legs were strong as anything pre sci and right up to the end I had to climb 40 steps
everyday as I lived in a 300 year old building. I believe these strong muscles were
part of whhy I could walk after -now i dont will it be these weak legs that are causing
spasm?

5. Me bed shakes the spasms are that violent - will that cause more damage and bone growth
around the cord de to this overload un-natural leg movement?

Even if you can just answer one question, I be so happy and grateful. Me GP said he dosnt know and I dont want to ask me medic friends as I would like life experienced sci views on it please.

Thank you :)

Question 1. I have reasonable sensation and it does not hurt much when I do it. One such caused an ingrown toenail but this was during a stretching experiment and the toes hit first. There is actually a bright side to slamming your feet on the floor. For people that are losing bone density, Sci's for instance, study's have shown that jumping 5 times a day is just as effective as medication for improving said density. So the bones in you leg will be nice and strong..

As for the other questions, I do not believe spasms can cause any further damage and the jelly feeling will be when the muscles have tired themselves out.

Not sure I understand question 4. Are you saying the spasms have increased now that you are walking less? That is possible, I certainly spasm less after exercise. Are you stretching lots? this should help and try some bicycle kicks or something while lying down. If you can not do them unaided then get some help - anything to keep them moving..

Hope this helps,
J
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

Hi J

thank you so much, your post sure has helped me. Thanks for letting me know about your feet not hurting muh and the news about the spasms. This has helped to ease me mind so much.

Question 4
My theory is that because i had been injured for so long before they found the injury, i carried on doing lots of exercise and lifting, things I would not have done if I had known about the injury because i was told it would have healed itself if i had slowed down. I truly believe me strong leg muscles and tolerance to pain enabled me to walk. i know for a fact if i had been injured straight away like some of the gals/guys on here i would never had walked, the pain would have been just too much.

Now me legs have got weaker post-surgery because i dont do much walking or exercise now, they spasm more. You saying you spasm less after activity confirms this is like me tory

I cant do the exercise bike exercises as I cant lift me legs anymore - but if i can build up the ability to, i'll be doing them.

Thanks so much for your help with me long posts and answering real important lesson. Again you have helped me to cope so much better :)
