So the time has finally arrived for me and my husband to be speaking about conceiving. He is a T10-T11 complete paraplegic and I am an able bodied person. We were not sure what to expect at first. We originally thought we had to undergo a huge procedure and take fertility drugs etc. Luckily that is not the case! We went to a fertility clinic and spoke to a very informative doctor who ordered us a vibrating device specifically for paraplegic men that is suppose to make my husband ejaculate. From there I guess we try the “turkey basting method” at home. We are a little nervous. We hope this device works. Has anyone tried something similar? Any advice?

We havn't tried it personally and are lucky to be able to try the old-fashioned way, but I have seen lots of old threads that refer to the hitachi magic wand if this is what has been ordered. As long as there are no erectile problems this method should work fine for you. I guess it's a matter of trying it out for a spin when it arrives. Wish you both well, hope others have some more specific advice on usage/experiences.

Read twisted_Ophelia's thread about pregnancy. Anxiety is not useful to the process, but a love of challenge and plain old lust will take you far.

I'm just about six months pregnant and not only am I a paraplegic but so is my baby's father, Jeremy. He is T10 complete and we conceived without ejaculation and pretty much just some "leakage". However, we had been "using" his penis and I had been sort of... working on making it work for a time leading up to when I got pregnant. I believe that by "waking it up", it slowly started to become more functional. Paralyzed men, in general, all still make sperm. The problem is getting it out. By "using" his penis, in a normal fashion and being intimate in the old fashioned way, whatever sperm leaked out did the trick. I happened to be in my fertile time and you have to remember that many, many, many able-bodied men get women pregnant with pre-cum and with pulling out so I FIRMLY believe that ejaculation inside of a woman is NOT necessary to conceive. People even get pregnant when the guy wears a condom. ALL IT TAKES IS ONE! LOL! So I would suggest just use his penis, get it inside you, whether or not he gets erections or ejaculates, because, as funny as it may seem, the stuff that leaks out could be what gets you pregnant. There's a lot more detail about this in my "I'm Pregnant" thread.
