Hello,
Sounds like Central Cord Syndrome. Go to any major university that accepts federal monies. I suggest any major university with a medical school in your area.

There is UCLA and USC but I don't think my insurance will cover it so what else are my options

My insurance is HMO and I have to go through them
I've been to local ER twice the 2nd time the doctor saw my hand paralyzed and I was not able to squeeze his hands. He also knows avout my visit a month ago when my leg gave out on me and it continues to do so.

My spinal cord was compressed moderately by a 7 mm protrussion signal changes consistant with myelitis at c56 and c 6-7 the 2nd neuro surgeon said it was ruptured disc and needed surgery ASAP. I had surgery on sep 22 2010
I had PT at hospital. Came home on day 5
Had home PT. 3 visits and home OT 5 visits OT explained my diagnosis as spinal cord injury aka myeleopathy.
Last week at ER I had RO sign the pages... But I couldn't so I just initialed the pages.
I have the digital version of all MRIs and several x rays. I'm going to take a look at them to othr and actually trace the disc that is compressed.
This should be interesting.

Jeanette,

I suggest you have a lawyer call your HMO to advocate for you.
