Hello everyone!

Please excuse my absence on the board, but I have been back in the hospital again. The pain is overwhelming and extreme (I know I am not alone in this area) and I am taking things day by day now that I am back home. If I could just get some form of relief from the pain, I would be satisfied. I can not rest day or night most of the time, but looking on the bright side; I thank God that I am still here. Most of the time I get kinda down because I feel like my family and friends do not know the total impact of my pain, but then I realize I can not expect them to know because we are each different and react to pain different. Sometimes though I feel so alone in this journey, so I thank God I am among people who at least has an idea of what the next individual is going through even though we are miles and cities apart; we are still united in a common bond. I hope everyone is doing okay!

Welcome back and out of the hospital...hope you stay away from that nasty place...

Pain is a tough one for all of us...and besides the drugs available, marijuana seems to help many people, if you are Living in the right place...

Take care and we're all still here for you!

Sorry that you are having such a tough time Chel - hope being back home is something of a relief for you even though the pain meds clearly aren't. Your words really strike a chord - pain is so different for everyone and my hubbie is only just beginning to understand what my words mean. it really is isolating. I hope you find a resolution soon. And there really are some very clever and compassionate people on here who sometimes feel like they are just in the next room.

take care

Thank you all so very much God knows I appreciate you all - it is a rough road, but I am holding on saw my PM doctor today, but it doesn't help a whole lot, but says He will be calling my neuro and also try to see how to make the pain kinda tolerant, but it seems like a long time coming. Thank each of you for everything!

Welcome back Chel.

I'm glad you got out of the hospital and will keep hoping for you that you find a better solution to help you cope with your pain.

Must seem like a long wait when you are in high pain but hang on and see what the neuro has to say, sometimes it is a difficult process to try and find what will work best for you in the long run so hopefully they will find something that works good for you. Try to distract yourself from the pain, it is difficult but keeping on doing things can work to trick your mind by stopping it from dwelling on the pain - so find something that will keep you busy when you are able to do something and the opposite holds true when the pain becomes overwhelming practice breathing & relaxation techniques to try and calm yourself down as this will prevent your cortisol (stress hormones) from going through the roof and making the pain seem worse.

Be sure to also try and get adequate rest for you body as overtiredness will also make you feel the pain more. Stay at a comfortable temperature & humidity when possible until you get the pain management adressed (high humidity will make you sorer).

Also make sure you are eating properly and getting lots of carbohydrates, having to endure higher levels of pain will burn more energy and you must attempt to keep your energy levels tanked up to help you cope with it.

Wish you well and hope you find a medical solution that works for soon.
