Hi!

I use Dragon Naturally Speaking, but the version I have I had to train it by reading in order for it to adapt to my voice, but I have been looking for something better. I am unsure of the newer versions and how they work, but mine when it was train made very few mistakes, but I have a new laptop since my last one got taken at the hospital and now I must train it again.

I use Dragon, version 9, and it works well. It does take a while to train it to your voice. I probably spent a couple of hours over a period of time, training it. You do have to be careful, if you have your Mike on, and you answer the phone or play music, as that will totally screw it up. And you will have to shut down the program and restart it. I would go with the newest version out there. I still have Windows XP, so I don't know about the Windows 7 program.
It is good to have an end to journey towards,
but it is the journey that matters in the end.

Jeanette, I found out my new computer has it's own speak and type; it still must be trained, but it's easier than the program, so make sure your computer didn't come with a program already. Good Luck!

Dragon is a complete train wreck and waste of money if you ask me. I have it, tried it and it is now sitting under my dresser. As of right now the best thing I've found is the free program that comes with windows, speech recognition. Best of luck!

I agree, dragons a waste of money, the windows program worked better for me but it still made many many mistakes.
No voice recognition for me, I sure am glad I have a smartnav and click n type. Dasher is great also.

all the voice recognition software is only as good as it is trained, they all take alot of work before they are proficient enough to be reliable.....win 7 is pretty good, i don't use it much, just played around, need to get rid of all the background noise when training it....... mishelly did u find it and try it?
