Hello, everyone, we need your advice

My son had an accident in another country, Kazakhstan in January 11, this year. He had an operation in January, but stil paralazed from chest down. He recently had an MRI scan in Kazakhstan, One surgeon says he needs an operation based on this, his original surgeon has looked at it and says he does not.

We have a copy of the scan on disc but we are 4000 miles away ( in the UK, Manchester ) how can we get or does anybody know a surgeon who will give us a non committal verdict/opinion of the scan as we want to make sure we are getting good advice.

Many thanks

Kind regards
Gulnara

hey, sorry to hear of this news about your son.

could you go to your gp and ask them maybe to recommend or for them to give your their opinion of who could/would help?

its worth a try.

all the best,

You my want to try the spinal center closest to you and see if one of the consultants will gov you an off the record opinion. This is too important to let go, I know Kazakhstan is a long way away and they had their problems after the Soviet union fell but the medical system under the Soviets was excellent, my mother in law was a vascular surgeon from Azerbaijan and my wife and sister in law are both doctors and my Sis in Law is practicing in Holland.

I would think the local doctor may not be wrong but you do need a second opinion before they take a knife to him.

I don't know which center is closest, maybe call stoke Mandeville and ask them ?

Good Luck

Impossible only describes a problem that needs viewed from a different perspective
