Michael Martinez will have his final interview for his green card next week and will go to Switzerland for the trials as soon as the word comes down.
This is Michael's victory. This is your victory. This is our victory!
Tonight we have truly shown that our voices are not empty, that we can make a difference in this world!
We have taken ownership over this trial and over all others. We are no longer passive observers in the fight.
Here are the words of Martinez's doctor. Tomorrow comes the analysis of this battle.

Dear Dennis,
I am thrilled to announce that I got word today from Michael Martinez's attorney, Aurora Vega, that all of your incredible worldwide efforts have helped us succeed in securing an expedited interview with US Customs and Immigration (USCIS) for paralyzed jockey Michael Martinez.
USCIS Director Robin Barrett's office has informed Ms. Vega that the interview process required to authorize a Green Card issuance for Michael Martinez may be completed as early as Tuesday next week so that he can be able to travel to Switzerland as soon as the University of Zurich are ready to take him.
Your support combined with wonderful work by Alan Chu of Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer's office and the gracious and sympathetic assistance of USCIS District Director Robin Barrett has given Michael the chance he has dreamed of.
Michael wishes me to extend to you and all of your colleagues around the world his deepest and most heartfelt thanks.
He wants everyone to know that he is participating in this trial, not only for himself but for all spinal cord injury patients around the world who deserve a chance of improved recovery from their injuries and enhanced function.
We will continue to keep you and your community up to date with developments as Michael's journey proceeds.
Thank You again!
David Seftel M.D.
We Win!

I just got a note from Michael Martinez's doctor saying that Michael received his green card today. This means that he'll be able to travel to Switzerland as much as necessary as he is free to leave and reenter America as he wishes.

Team Dennis,
This is great news!!! Please don't forget to update sci.rutgers.org CareCure forum
and Christopher Reeves forum. Christopher Reeves forum last week posted about a possible
break through for a chronic with SCI and are going to test further on chronics. This gives
me hope for my daughter c5 c6 incomplete 2007. Checkout her blog should be posting when we
were at Project Walk Austin (formerly known as roll2walk.org). Project Walk Austin is having
their fund raiser and will be having some great stuff for silent auction at roll2walk.org.

Michael Martinez and his family have sent a letter of thanks to all of you who sent off emails.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////
Dear friends:
I want to thank you for your support and help in my moment of need. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you've done for me. I came to this country with a work visa (P1). My visa was in the renewal process but I had my accident and the StemCells surgery is not done in the US.
I had been well informed by the doctor at the racetrack, David Seftel, about this surgery, but I wouldn't have had the chance to go there and return to the States because of my visa issue.
Thanks to friends like Dennis Tesolat who got my story out to all of you, I really don't know how to thank you for your emotional support. God is great and I know he doesn't forget his sons therefore I've never lost my faith. I also thank God for having in this world people like you that have given me this great support and I thank the immigration for approving my green card. With tears in my eyes I thank you all and our lord. Blessings to you and your families.
Michael Martinez and family.
