Has anyone tried dorsal root entry zone (DREZ) lesion procedure ?

If so - can you tell me more about it ?
Can you also recommend on any physician that does this procedure ?
What are the risks involved ?

Also, I would like to know if there is a chance of paralysis after having DREZ procedure ?

Hi Melissa..

I recently had this procedure done to try to curb my spasms.. We were thrilled in the beginning, but a the swelling went down, the spasms sadly returned, increasing daily till they were back to normal.. My experience is not the norm.. When I was doing my research about it, the chances were 70% to 30% that it would work for the spasms..

I can't tell you much more.. Basically the surgeon cuts the motor nerves in order to paralyse the muscles that are still firing.. Its good to find out as much as you can beforehand, specifically evaluate the information to your own situation..

Good luck.. ;-)
