Hi, Becasue of a recent windfall courtesy of DLA Im looking for another chair to supplement my fixed frame RGK. I have looked at several folding chairs and am now considering importing a Tilite from the US thereby saving a bundle. In particular Ive noticed their folding sports chair which is the TiLite XC. It looks very good and wonder if anyone has come accross this. Of course if Im importing I wont be able to try it out, but could I just assume its going to be decent as its Tilite?

Gerald Simmons imports these chairs so you won't have to. It's a chair I have started to look at but my local Alac wants me to have some heavy geriatric chair!

If you're paying US prices then it's probably OK quality wise but you shouldn't assume it'll be any better or worse than any other make.

If you buy through (sole) UK importer you'll pay nearly twice as much and you'll get it when they're good and ready to give it to you (mine took nearly 3 months) and not a moment before. They'll not give you any feedback in the interim. I ended up having to make a personal complaint to the MD and threaten to cancel my order and claim back deposit (which because of the way I'd written order I could do but you wouldn't normally be able to do this) in order to get some action out of them. US orders take 7 to 10 days to fill apparently. I wouldn't use them again.
