as the title says nothing too important just need to let of steam.

The crawly hot pain in my legs has got really really bad last few days and im struggling to cope. its driving me crazy. i struggle to be comfortable when im awake and it disturbs my sleep. my routine is al over the place as i try to grab sleep at the times when the drugs are at their peak. doing anything at the minute makes it worse and i end being growly with everyone and just wanting to scream

rant over... for now

thank you

Sss ok,,,, most of us have the same to some degree or another. I find that if I can get my mind absorbed in something,, a book,, crossword puzzle,, some task I need to do,, that I notice the pain less. It isn't gpne,, but I can ,, sometimes,, ignore it a little.

Practice the "Art of Ignoring"...For me: After four years it has became part of the landscape...I agree with Ed...distract yourself until it fades into the background...

most of the time i can ignore but its been spiking a lot recently and it feels aa bit all consuming right now, im usually pretty good at distraction. i think its probably worse right now because ive had a chest infection lately and that always seems to make things worse

Hope it eases up!

I don't know what I'd do without my computer & MUSIC for distraction!

My pain management doctor prescribed a topical cream that seems to help me when I have a severe flare up, 100 Ketamin/Lidoca/Gabape 5%Each. It helps. I don't understand why it helps since the pain and burning is because of my spine but it does. Enough to get to sleep for a few hours anyway. Can't hurt to try it if you haven't already.

I've found that when my condition flares up from overdoing it or UTI my spasms, spasticity, etc goes haywire and in turn my skin burning/pain increases....The cremes you talk of deaden the skin and do help the burning a bit..I used them until I was able to ignore the situation...You can buy basically the same cremes at Walmart pretty cheap...anything with lidocaine....with names like "Hawaiian Tropic" with lidocaine, aloe vera and menthol..or "Solarcaine"..the former is best and it comes in generic or equate brands...

I have a UTI at the moment & I've just travelled 1600 kilometers so my nerve pain has been really bad. I've been trying to get out as much as possible to take my mind off it & listening to music while going to sleep definitely helps..a few wines at night doesn't hurt either!
