Hi all friends and readers of Jules posts

After completing her run, it was found that a lot of nasty bacteria decided to attack 'our Jules' lungs again - which was why she began to feel rather unwell during her challenge to make money for charity (and still this what I would imagine to be horrific pain) didnt stop her carrying on and being herself, determined to help others.

Still in hospital and managing to find the energy to pm me, she asked if I could update all on her situation.

This post is my spin on things 'our Jules' I assume will say 'oooo its ok, just a bit of an infection and I'm resting it out in hospital', which to her will be what she experiences. Then again, why I inspire to be like her one day too.

Any questions, please do pm to Jules directly or write on her pm profile wall or on here to ask her more personal questions/comments. If you dont tell her....she wont know.

:)

hi fellow gimps! i'm a c 6/7 quad and have been injured since 1986. i was in a roll over hydroplane accident and it took hours for the paramedics to get me out of the car in the pouring rain. that definately wasn't my day. but alas life goes on!

Hi Everyone. Firstly thanks so much PC for posting for me. I am still in hospital, the secondary infections have really laid me low. It has been a month now, I suffered another pulmonary embolism last week, causing an infarct which my growths have invaded. I am still fighting on but this is a hard battle.

My aim is to make it to silverstone for the GP even if its only for the race. So fingers crossed I'll see you there boss.

Thanks so much for your support I really need an appreciate it this time.

Damn infections.... You are in my thoughts and I am sending healing vibes your way. A month in the hospital is enough. It's time for the meds to work and you to get to go home.

Silverstone it is. Wow, that's less than a fortnight. Tough ask but I'm gunning for you and will be particularly picky watching the tv coverage to spot you. Whatever, I'll be thinking of you during the race.

Hi Everyone, firstly thanks again. I am being allowed home for the weekend. If I get on ok I can stay at home. I have finished my iv antibiotics and moved on to nebulised antibiotics. The bacterial infection will always be there now, we will just try and dampen it down.

I need a lot more oxygen now too, I am on high flow oxygen. They are arranging for me to have an oxygen concentrator at home. The nurses and physios will see me at home too.

Sadly the end result of the secondary infection is that both the chronic necrotising bronco-pulmonary aspergillosis (growths themselves)
and the allergic bronco-pulmonary aspergillosis have both turned very aggressive and flared up. As I mentioned before the treatments for both of the diseases completely counteract each other. This means that we have to decide which disease to treat.

Goal is to still get to Silverstone :-)

Thanks again everyone, your support really is amazing.

Hi Juls

Had no idea aabout this till now. Just keep marching on luv you're made of strong stuff gal! You should have txt me, I'dd have come and tormented youn presume you were at derby?
Spent monday at/in kings mill hopsp, 8 hrs!! Dysreflexic, bladder n' bowel spasms, water retention even with a cath! Drs were crap, rude, insulting and not prepared to ask for help and guidance with the ads from stke out paatients. I gave them printout from here on aads, but it sailed over their heads like flying pigsd! Asking me questions then questioning the answers. Already started the complaint with A+E managers.
Away nxt wk, cottage nr Pickering, going to put this "freewheel" I bought off clara to the test on the moors! When I was on my feet, I did the lyke wake walk, 42 miles west to east accross the moors 16hrs hard walking, up and down gullies, ditches, streams and heath. Amazing views. Wonder if I'll manage it on wheels?
I"ll have my acer with me if you want to chat.
Xx
Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
