Good for you. I miss fishing, a lot. I have problems with my hands as well. Especially my right. I was checking out adaptive fishing equipment on line the other day. There are a few things avavilable. Pole holders, automatic reels, casters, etc. I would be very interested to hear how it goes.

Have a great relaxing time?

Oh, I don't know about in Calgary but here in California I can apply for a free or discounted fishing license because of my disability. You apply on line and they send paperwork for your doctor to sign. Licenses here have gotten friggin expensive.

Don't use bait!

Cast with the your good hand then transfer the rod to you bad hand. Your good hand is now free to drink beer..

No bait means no interruptions and you can sit back and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the bear, I mean beer..
Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

I went fly fishing at Roaring River State Park a few miles from my home here in Missouri Tuesday. Not WC accessible on the lower part where I have always gone. But I can manage to carry a small folding chair down to the bank with my forearm crutches. Had a good time and it's really pretty there. About noon a thunderstorm rolled through and it rained for about 20 min or so and I went back to the truck for a bit. After the rain the clay banks were a bit slimy and I took a bit of a fall and landed on some rocks.Lesson learned there, lol. Embarrassed and a little bruised, I fished a couple more hours. Great Day! I caught about 11 Rainbow trout.Your allowed to keep 4 so that was dinner. My mother is a bit overprotective and when she saw the mud and bruises I had to listen to her long lecture on being safe and blah blah blah. So, few days rest and the fly or maybe take the kayak out and fish the lake. Happy fishing everyone!
