Hey All,
I was wondering if anyone, anywhere has tried Sacral Nerve Stimulation Therapy? For the overactive bladder, treatment of spasms.
After 4years of Botox treatrment my bladder is building up a resistance to it and is not as successful as it first was! From first treatment lasted 6months, and now Im down to it wearing off after 2months. I have had two different batches of botox, and will be trying a new one that is out to see if this will work! So far I have been unsuccessful with bladder medications, but not ruling them out, will be trying a couple new ones that are on the market!
But foremost of the topic is to ask if anyone has tried Sacral Stimulation?

No I have not but for a while I was using a Vibrogym which is a full body vibration exercise machine. There have not been many studies done in regard to SCI but among other things it great for strengthening your pelvic floor muscles. I see you are in complete, can you stand? If not sitting is an option. A lot of gyms have them these days. They also improve bone density and muscle tone. I used one three times a week for a month and started to regain the ability to void, I had some frequency issues but that's common as you regain function. Then the holiday was over and after being home for about a week I lost what ability I had gained.
I'm not sure if it's suitable for you but might be worth thinking about..
Sidebar - This was when I went to Thailand to escape the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake. I'll be moving back permanently in two months and will be able to use the Vibrogym again. If your interested I will keep you posted on my progress..

Out of the gloom a voice said unto me, "Smile and be happy, things could be worse." So I smiled and was happy and behold things did get worse.

Thanks for the reply! Not really something I have considered, and now that I come to think of it my personal trainer has one of these. I can't stand though, not that fortunate. Looking at that machine, I can see how it would be beneficial for a weight bearing incomplete, for every you say, and blood circulation as well. Bone density is something I need to work on, since I'm just recovering from a broken leg, But I would be interested to hear how you get on with relation to your bladder.
Everything will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end!

Hi,
Ive only just read this post so you may not even read this but thought I'd tell you about me. Ive got 2 sacral nerve stimulators but for my bowels not bladder. So far its just been more trouble then its worth!! I had the first put in and once its in there, there is so many different settings its stupid as its trail and error to find the right setting. A year later they decided as it was doing nothing for me they would put a second one in, in the hope that 2's better than 1. Well 7 months later still havent had any luck!! Thats how many settings there are!! Im not saying it doesn't work as its meant to be great when it does Im just warning you it may take a long time to get it right and dont get despondant Im still plugging away at it as if it does work it will change my life. It doesnt help that i have to travel 4hours each time to see the nurse! At the end of the day have it and if you decide you dont like it its very easy to ave removed. Putting it in is very little fuss too.
