Looks like I'll be headed for the Orient in a few weeks and I am rather dreading the trip. I get uncomfortable on a 3-hr. flight let alone a 14-hr one! Flying from LA to Narita,Japan, doesn't present any option for stops along the way. Anyone out there have any hints to share?

Book for centre back of airplane, best chance of scoring empty spare seats (then you can lie down).
Swap airplane seat cushion out, and replace with your wheelchair cushion.
Watch the onboard movies!..... :)
