I sustained a T4 SCI 16 years ago. Over the years I have developed increased spasticity and bilateral ankle contractures. Recently I have been treated for Stage 1 & 2 pressure ulcers over my metatarsal heads. My PT, physiatrist, orthopedist, and orthotist assure me that it is not my shoes, but the spasticity and the contractures that are leading to the ulcers. I am contemplating both the insertion of the baclofen pump (presently I am taking 15 mg of baclofen 4x per day), as well as contemplating bilateral ankle tendon release surgery. I have already read a lot of info about the pump, but would like more info about the tendon release surgery. I appreciate any help I can get. I live in Orange County, California and am receiving my out patient care at St. Jude hospital in Fullerton, California. Thank you.
