I've been a member for a couple years now and I've finally completed my novel. The book is entitled 'Parker's Justice'. I've published it as an eBook for Amazon's Kindle eReader. It's listed for the Kindle at Amazon's website at the following link:

The novel is a Western set in 1875. Here's a synopsis that sets out the story:
Nathan Parker, Civil War veteran and Sharpshooter struggles to rebuild his shattered life after his young son is killed during Quantrill's raid on Lawrence, Kansas. He wants desperately to find the killer, but without a name, there is no place to start his search. A shadowy figure from his past comes back to haunt him and ultimately sets him on his search for justice. Follow Nathan Parker's quest as it begins on the plains of Kansas and reaches its stunning conclusion in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming Territory. Follow the gritty saga of one man's search for retribution and justice--Parker's Justice.
I hope you folks might give it a look and possibly support a budding career. Thanks.

Congratulations!!! Sounds like a good read. Next time I order books, I'll have to check into it.
I've wondered why I haven't seen you around here lately. How long have you been working on it?
Your writing style seems similar to my father-in-law's (now deceased). He had written a book that was published. I can't seem to track it down (it's old) and I don't know who in the very large family has any copies.
As a Christmas present for my dear hubby, I finally tracked down one of his father's many short stories, one of which was published in an old detective magazine "Man Hunt."
The story is called "Sucker Play" and took place a little later than your story and in Arizona, but there is a Sheriff.
I found it through a clearinghouse in the U.K., but the seller's from New York and I had to pay a foreign transaction fee. Oh well, it was worth it to see my husband's face.
Again Quad65, congratulations and I'll try to get a copy and let you know what I think, but from what I've read, it sounds exciting.

Thank you very much. I've been working on it sporadically for way too long, really. I finally decided to finish it and get it out the door. That's where most of my time's been spent. That plus a bunch of family stuff, nothing serious, but it needed attention. Mostly having to do with my wife's Workers Comp issues with Walmart. They're a sweet bunch to deal with, let me tell you.
Glad you like the story so far. I'd be interested in getting your review of it if you decide to get the whole thing and read it through. Don't be afraid to be honest about what you may or may not have liked. I'm a big boy, I can take it. My wife, my daughter, and my mother-in-law have read it. Westerns aren't my MIL's usual fare, so I was a bit hesitant to have her read it. At the risk of bragging, she was quite impressed. I even mentioned her in the Acknowledgements section. She picked out a bunch of errors, typos, and continuity mistakes when she read through it and before I uploaded the final draft.

You're right about that. I've got the second book featuring the main character again generally mapped out. I'm also about half done with a short story set in a mining camp. It's a bit of a 'whodunit'.
Stay tuned.
