Hello, I also have just joined this site and am scared also. My accident happened 7/5/10 and was released from Touro Rehab on 10/8/10. So many ups and downs, steps forward to steps backward.... I have never really been a online group type but I need to remind myself, I am not alone and I do need people that really understand what I am going through. I have so many questions but I don't even know what they are??? If that makes any sense at all.

Welcome aboard KK*..
This forum is a treasure trove of information.. Browse the history using the search function or by scrolling through the sub forums.. When you come accross a problem, just ask your question, either by starting a new thread, or by PM-ing someone who's been there and can help you find answers..
I was also not a "online forum type".. Then I found this family of friends that helped me through the roughest times..

What's important is not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens to us..

Hiya KK. Welcome to the forum. No need to be scared of us. We don't bite - honest (well, not all of us!).
If it's your condition that you are scared of, you've come to the right place. Fear is caused - usually - by a lack of knowledge. You'll find more than enough information about your injury here from folks who have really ''been there'', and know exactly how you feel. Just ask, if you can't find your answer in the forum archives. You can use the search button (top right) as a starting point. Enjoy.

Welcome aboard what you're feeling is natural not really knowing what to expect and what's ahead of you ...... you basically learn , adjust and adapt as you go along. Hopefully in time, time will be your ally and things will become clearer. Ask any question someone can help or lead you in the right direction please dont feel ignored if you dont get a response right away. Hopefully you'll find the forum a valuable resource and make some friends along the way.

I'll echo that - hello and welcome.
I'll bring along some other drugs to the party. I've got a good supply
I've been SCI for 5 years, but only recently joined the forum. It's great. I wish I had found it earlier.
Come along to the chat room when you see people in there. There's usually plenty people in there in the evening UK time. Or just hang around on there and it may prompt others to join in. It gets raucous though, so be warned.
Cheers

The rules state (I believe) that you need to have made 10 posts before you are allowed to post in the chat room. This is to prevent spam bots and general undesirables going in there and keeps our members safer.

I found this site doing research for a school paper. My husband (since June 28, 2011) has been a paraplegic since January, 2004. He already knows the ins and outs, but as his primary caregiver, I am still learning! I wish I had found this site months ago, but I have spent a lot of hours since finding it this past week just sitting and reading post after post. There is SOOOOO much useful information here and it's always stated in a way that doesn't make me feel stupid. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm finding that this is a great place to learn it!

Welcome to the site! As many have said you will find a lot of answers here and a lot of support from people who know exactly what you're going through, from first-hand experience! Hope you enjoy the site!
Imagine what I do when I need to laugh or feel better. Imagine a purple hippo standing up straight wearing pink clown shoes and juggling lime green Jell-O squares!
