I just join'd the forums and wanted to say Hi.

I was in a very bad motorcycle crash back on July 23, 2003 when a van ran me off the road, I am now a T-12 para compleate. I have a wife of 15 years and a 13 year old girl, right now I'm building a 2000 Kawasaki ZRX 1100 Trike, hope to have it up and running befor summer is over.

Here are a few pics for you to see and get to know me a little bit better.

Me on the ZRX with my chair hiding behind it.

Welcome orange-appeal!

I hope to have a trike by this time next year. I won't be building it myself, though, so I'm putting the word out now, hoping to find one for sale.

Let us know when you get on the road. :)

Hi,

Welcome,

A friend of ours, many years ago built a trike out of a V/W beatle, he was a para and he used the trike in the summer and a Jaguar XJS, when Jaguar's were really fast, big engined machines. I think Vaughan had a thing about speed, his w/chair was pretty fast too.

Can you still ride trikes without a helmet?

Good luck with the build and many happy hours of motoring on it.

Maria
Wife of an incomplete SCI - level C5/6 - accident lifting boards above his head in work caused popping sensation in his neck and this was the result. He uses a wheelchair part of the time.

Never say never, and definately do not quit, its usually worth the trying in the end.

I saw one made from a VW just this past Sat. I really liked it too, but this one wasn't for sale.

Here in Indiana, we have no helmet law at all...I've heard that the governor has been...um, persuaded by the biker groups not to enact one. :)

Hi ya orrange appeal, My boyfriend is also re-building his kawasaki but is all ongoing at the moment due to him being in hospital on and off most of the time lately. The plan is to sell it eventually when its up and running. I must say your bike looks very impressive, just wondered about your chair though, wont you need a place to put it when your out and about? Sorry if that sounds a bit daft :scooter:
