The last couple of days, I'll be sitting here, and all of a sudden I will have a couple VERY strong heartbeats. Like, I can feel it through my chest, and my whole body will move with each beat. I first thought a dog was brushing up against my chair, which made my body move, but no. Also while it is happening, I feel like I need to open my mouth so I can breathe easier.

Anyone have anything this strange happen to them?

Hi Beautiful,
This sounds like Tachycardia or arythmia, fast irregular heartbeats, I am not sure if it is SCI related as I am a partner but I am also the mother of an 18 year old daughter with a serious heart condition. Ocassional occurances of Tachycardia are quite common but can also be an indicator of infection, fever or similar, however if they become regular have this checked out. Look after yourself girl!

I don't want it to sound alarming, but those are the kinds of beats I felt right before heading to the ICU in the hospital for having a pulmonary embolism. Though when I had mine the strong heartbeats were constant, and felt like my heart was trying to beat out of my chest.

Definitely sounds like something that needs to be checked out though....

Alright, thanks everyone. It happened several times today. It is just strange it started happening all of a sudden, out of nowhere. Hm...

Thanks again :)

Eta: I'm not on any medications.

sounds like arythymia . Can you see your heart beating thru your shirt? Do you get weak? Please go to a cardiologist and have this checked out. I think they have medication or if really bad...a pace maker. It normally starts slowly and gets worse. It can be corrected just don't wait to long.

I get a little weak. I feel "fuzzy", if that makes any sense...
